Computational photography that expands expression

Scince the early stages of camera development, the OM SYSTEM has provided compositing technology in the camera that traditionally required a computer, making advanced digital expressions easier.
We use the latest digital technologies to drive the power of expression further.

High Res Shot delivers amazing high definition in a compact package

Tripod High Res Shot creates 80M high-definition shots by compositing 8 images. Handheld High Res Shot is also included, for creating 50M high-definition shots by compositing 12 images. The new TruePic X engine significantly reduces processing time (Handheld High Res Shot: 5-second composite), meeting the needs of users who demand high-definition imaging for landscape shots. A Movie button is set to High Res setting in defalut configuration to allow quick access to Handheld High Res Shot. High Res Shot can also composite multiple images to reduce noise by approximately two steps. High Res Shot delivers stunning image quality and low noise. Additionally, High Res shooting features (Tripod High Res) can be used in combination with interval shooting, which enable creating high-resolution Time Lapse Movie videos easier than ever.

Live ND for slow shutter speed effects

Live ND now supports up to ND64 (6 levels from ND2 to ND64), compositing multiple images to simulate extended exposure times and reproduce slow shutter speed effects even under very bright conditions. Not only does this feature reduce the need to attach ND filters, but it also makes it possible to achieve slow shutter speed effects in highly bright conditions even on ultra wide-angle lenses that cannot be fitted with ND filters. The slow shutter speed effects can also be checked in Live View before shooting. This feature enables shutter speeds equivalent to a single image by compositing multiple images at quick shutter speeds for images with minimal light loss and reduced noise.

Live Composite for easier Lighten Composite photos

Unlike long exposures that collect all the light while the shutter is open, Live Composite merges the parts that have brightened in multiple shots. This feature makes it possible to capture different aspects at the correct exposure on a single screen, such as the movement of stars that require long exposures, and city lights that require a comparatively quicker shutter speed (compared to photographing stars). Furthermore, the OM-1 now adds image stabilization compatibility to Live Composite exposures.

Focus Stacking delivers seamless deep focus and high resolution

Focus Stacking shifts the focal point to capture and composite multiple shots for more easily recording photos that are in focus from foreground to back-ground. It also eliminates the need to excessively stop down the aperture to obtain a good depth of field. This feature can be utilized for everything from macro to land-scape photography. Composite time is also significantly reduced on the OM-1. Users can select from 3 to 15 shots to composite depending on the subject. Guide lines are also displayed on the screen for identifying the area after compositing. Focus Bracketing is a useful feature when compositing more shots (up to 999) with OM Workspace.

HDR shooting delivers a wide dynamic range capturing everything from shadows to highlights

Some inspiring scenery contains subjects with differences in contrast that cannot be captured in a single shot. The OM-1 is equipped with HDR shooting for easily capturing photos with a wide dynamic range by compositing multiple shots at different exposures. HDR1 captures scenes naturally, just as they appear to the naked eye, and HDR2 gives photos a painting style.
