A wide range of functions to support your creativity.

"HLD-5", the compact and lightweight power battery holder. (optional)

Equipped with a shutter release button and other controls including a dial and vertical operation lock knob for smooth operation during vertical-holding shooting. Accommodates up to two BLS-1 Li-ion batteries - the same type used by the E-620 camera, enabling extended shooting sessions.

Illuminated buttons supports night time shooting

The Menu, Play, arrow pad and other buttons on the rear panel are illuminated for improved visibility when operating in the dark, making it possible to change various settings easily especially in night time shooting.

Optical viewfinder with 95% field of view, 0.96X magnification and extensive information display

The large, newly developed optical viewfinder has a field of view of about 95% and 0.96X magnification (at -1 mm-1 50 mm infinity), providing the user with a comfortable, easy-view option for composing shots. The viewfinder also displays an extensive range of shooting information, while improving visibility during shooting.

High-speed 4-fps sequential shooting

Sequential shooting speed has been increased to 4 fps thanks to the higher read speed of the new High-Speed Live MOS Sensor, the higher processing speed of the TruePic III+ image processing engine, and the higher accuracy of the mirror mechanism.

Color Universal Design Certification Approved

The E-620 (camera body) acquired the "Color Universal Design Certification" by using pictographs and graphic colors in the LCD that were designed to be easy to view regardless of individual differences in perceived color.

* Color Universal Design Certification is a third party certification, provided by the Incorporated NPO Color Universal Design Institute (CUDO), which certifies that the Color Universal Design standards have been achieved.

Addressing the Need for Color Universal Design (CUD)

Powerful Dust Reduction System

The Supersonic Wave Filter (SSWF) installed in front of the image sensor vibrates at an ultrahigh speed of more than 30,000 times a second to blast the dust away from the sensor. The tremendous power of the supersonic waves removes dust that cannot be removed merely by shaking the image sensor and even removes dust that is attached by intermolecular force and cannot be removed by discharging static electricity. The Dust Reduction System is activated automatically when the camera is turned on and when Live View is activated.

Built-in flash that synchronizes with wireless flashes.

The built-in flash incorporates a commander function for use in wireless control of optional external flashes (FL-50R and/or FL-36R). All flash operations, including activation or deactivation of up to 3 flash groups and adjustment of the flash output intensity can be controlled from the E-620, making possible high-quality shooting with full use of advanced lighting capabilities.
In addition, the flash bracket can be used even when the LCD monitor is opened for Free Angle AF Live View usage.

Flash Bracket FL-BK04 / FL-BKM03

Dual Slot

The E-620 is provided with a dual slot that accepts a CompactFlash (CF Type I, II) or a Microdrive card and an xD-Picture Card. Data can be copied between different media and a second card can be used to backup the main card used for recording.

Automatic Tone Gradation adjusts to avoid white outs and black outs.

Shadow adjustment technology (Automatic Tone Gradation) decreases white outs and black outs. It can simultaneously decrease white outs in light areas, while also increasing light to dark areas. Compensation effects can be monitored in LiveView while shooting.

Light Box function

The histogram display shows the recorded image's luminance information, while the highlight display shows the over-exposed areas and the shadow display shows the under-exposed areas. In addition, the light box display allows you to compare two magnified images side by side.
