Smallest body with Image Stabilization | Free-Angle Live View | Various art functions | Versatile Functions
Image stabilization is built into the world's smallest and lightest camera body, for everyday use. Take your position and shoot a picture by hand whenever the opportunity is right. Your shooting environment is fully supported.
Because a small and light weight camera body is easy to carry around, and because image stabilization offers stable quality as well, the E-620 will make your daily life more lively and help keep those moments in high quality.
To ensure that the superior image performance of ZUIKO DIGITAL lenses is transferred to the image sensor without deterioration, an image stabilization mechanism is integrated into the camera body. This system can compensate for camera shake by up to 5 shutter speed steps* on the E-30, or up to 4 steps*2 on the E-620. Since the stabilizing mechanism is built into the camera body, it can function with any Four Thirds lens from ultrawide angle to super telephoto without compromising its optical performance. Two modes - I.S.2 (horizontal) and I.S.3 (vertical) - make possible blur-free panning shots in either the horizontal or vertical direction.

All 7 of the distance-measuring points in the E-620's 7-point Full Twin AF sensor use a 2-line twin sensor configuration to improve AF accuracy, while the 5 centre points feature a 2-line twin cross configuration, adding up to a total of 24 discrete data items. The cross-sensor configuration enables the sensor to accurately detect contrast in both horizontal and vertical directions with virtually any type of subject, while the Hounds' tooth arrangement of the lines significantly increases accuracy and improves AF performance in low light.

To achieve high image quality, the image sensor and image processing engine and lenses must all be high performance component.
The E-620 uses a 12.3 Megapixel Live MOS image sensor, the TruePic III+ image processing engine, as well as a Four Thirds system standard for lenses, allowing for high resolution imaging in a small package by using the various standard and zoom lenses available.
For Higher Image Quality
[ZUIKO DIGITAL 25mm F2.8 (optional)]
The quality of digital photography depends on the lens, imaging sensor, and image processing engine. As the quality of imaging sensors and image processing engines increase, the importance of the lens more and more important. Delivering high quality images and lights to all corners of the image sensor is the life line for delicate digital photography. The FourThirds system thoroughly studied and optimized to the characteristics of digital photography. True high quality digital imaging begins here.
